April: Just a Star seed doing her thing
Hi Ms. Kirkwood,
I really enjoyed your first book and look forward to reading the second. There was so much valuable information for young women as well as the insight into Mr. Valli’s character.
I have three questions:
Do you do any seminars? In this celebrity driven culture, young women might be well advised to know what they are facing when they get into a relationship with a celebrity. You’ve been there.
Who is the “Toni” that you refer to as Frankie Valli’s wife? I thought he had only married three times, to Mary, Mary Ann and Randy.
This maybe a sensitive question, but do you know whatever happened to his second wife Mary Ann Hannigan? She seems to have vanished after divorcing him.
Thanks again for sharing your fascinating journey
Hi Charlotte:
I am just getting back to work after my adventure as in The Golden Bachelor. Toni is Frankie’s daughter. Yes, I do guest speaking and seminars. Let me know what area you are interested in. I would love to be a guest at one of your events.
Much love and gratitude,
April

Synopsis: For rural Ohio beauty queen April Kirkwood, her #MeToo moment came way before the term was coined. She lost her virginity to the middle-aged Frankie Valli at 16, after a decade pursuing a childhood fantasy to be the crooner’s wife.
The affair would go for decades. But Frankie Valli is just a central character in April’s complex story of her struggle to break the generational cycle of abused and dependent women. Indeed, the strong women in “Working My Way Back to Me: A Frank Memoir of Self-Discovery” are filled with enormous love that offers protection, but also intensifies the hurt.
Through April’s eyes, we experience joys and heartaches that echo across more than a half-century of old family secrets and ways, and the triumphs and defeats involved in trying to break the mold.
Critique: It is interesting to note that April Kirkwood has worked over twenty five years in public education and in the mental health field as a social worker, teacher, guidance counselor, mentor for new teachers, and counselor. She presently lives in Florida and Ohio and spends most of her time writing, sharing her story with others, helping women, and is a public speaker.
Her memoir, “Working My Way Back to Me: A Frank Memoir of Self-Discovery” is more than just an exercise in personal catharsis, it is a representative true life example of the effects of a pervasive cultural patriarchally based misogyny — and how a new movement is helping women break from their invisible bonds and emerge as worthwhile and independent women in a pluralist society. While very highly recommended for community and academic library collections, it should be noted for personal reading lists that “Working My Way Back to Me” is also available in a digital book format (Kindle, $4.99).

Hello James,
I’m so sorry it took me so long to reply. It’s been a few years since I’ve been on my sight. My life mate of twenty years, Ralph, died after a long illness. Then two years later I was on The Golden Bachelor which really took a lot of time. However, I am now healed enough and ready to dive back in presenting new and different thoughts about love and life. Please come back to visit.
One more question: May I post this review? The book is getting more attention since I’ve become more well known. Thank you so much for your kind words.
Much love,
April
The Working My Way Back To Me is crazy, even if your inda cancelling Frankie, You make some GOOD references to the songs.
April is the most genuine person I have met! I cannot wait for all her future endeavors.
Hi Heather:
It’s been a few years since I’ve written and been on my site. Ralph’s death took me into a dark state of grief. Then out of no where, I was given the opportunity to be on The Golden Bachelor. Now I’m beginning again with fresh eyes and a heart bigger and wiser than I could have imagined. With my dogs by my side, I think a lot about life. I hope to share it with others and perhaps spark a new idea.
Much love and gratitude,
April
Hello April Kirkwood,
My name is Joseph W. Brooke. How are you today?? I am interested in how to use healing numbers for attracting monetary abundance or prosperity or unlimited wealth. My reason for asking is that I had been desperately seeking to find ways to earn money, for as long as many years, so that I could afford to receive repeated energy healing sessions, especially for the highly disabling afflictions of my mind, as well as the major physical conditions I also have, etc.
Please respond back to me and email me and let me know how I might be able to use healing numbers, especially for prosperity. It appears that something keeps happening over and over again, delaying me, for as long as many years. Please help me!
Thank you.
Most Sincerely,
Joseph Brooke

Hi Joseph;
May I use your question and take out your name to write a post explaining my views on this topic? I’m sorry it’s taken me so long. The love of my life, Ralph, died in 2021 and I took time to grieve. Then as though God said to get up, I got an opportunity to go on The Golden Bachelor which took another six to eight months to do and process.
Please forgive me for not writing sooner. Let me know if I can post about your question.
Much love and gratitude,
April
Dear April
It was a joy to watch you on the “Golden Bachelor” this season.
I decided to google you after Gerry let you go home and was interested to read about your past relationship, books and professional life.
We have a lot in common spiritually and based on our life experience. I’ve been living in Hollywood for 24 years now and had a long-term relationship similar to yours with someone noteworthy, but it wasn’t worthy of the time or my effort. I’m going to read your book and I’d like if we met one day.
I’m a romantic seeking a soulmate and I’ve been incredibly patient waiting many years for her to find me. I’m younger than you but this has not dissuaded me before and won’t now.
To discover more of my personality, you can go to “OKCUPID” username: trulywacked. This is NOT a solicitation.
I’d love it if you simply reply to my email address (100x90k@gmail.com) so we can chat further.
Yours Sincerely,
LV
Hey April!
I just watched you on the Golden Bachelor and was drawn to your energy from your first appearance. After I read a little about your life, experiences, and career I have to say as a 24 year old woman you are inspiring and ahead of your time. Thank you for sharing your story with the world and using what you learned from your past to help people.
I hope you have opportunities to share more of you and your life as a result of the GB because as you probably already know, many fans of the show are now fans of you! Thank you for being an inspiring woman and bringing forth the changes of the collective consciousness through your life and work.
Sincerely,
Zaira
Thank you. I’m just getting back to my website now and they’ve upgraded the process so much I’m relearning it. Much love, April
