October 22: Childhood Issues Affecting Adulthood
“O, to be sure, we laugh less and play less and wear uncomfortable disguises like adults, but beneath the costume is the child we always are, whose needs are simple, whose daily life is still best described by fairy tales.”―
Childhood Issues That Affect Adulthood and your happiness!
We hold on to childhood and the methods that at one time helped you survive but now as adults it serves to be a negative.
Four Childhood coping skills to early trauma!
- Safety Blanket – find someone or something to save us aka the lover aka the career aka drugs.
- Spiritual check out – some call it repression or denial. The soul wants to love and be love when the events are too devastating to our bodies and/or our psyches we shut down.
- Faulty Thinking – You think like a child because you are one. Many arrive at the conclusion that everything is our fault. Our parents are like Gods to us and their messages are deeply affect a child.
- Make Believe – we rewrite history so it’s we can live with it.
It is only when we go back and do the work that we can fully bring these personal issues to light and investigate the story you’ve been living with. Perhaps it’s time for you to distinguish from a child’s thoughts to your adult thoughts and find your truth.
